About Dee

Hi, I'm Dee

I'm the one in the family who notices when the price of lettuce triples and understands why. The one who keeps a buffer of food in the pantry and ensures the power banks are always charged. And the one who understands supply chain disruption and what increased fuel prices really mean. Every family needs someone who thinks a bit differently, and for my family, that someone is me.

I work full-time, garden part-time, and prep on the side. My parents are in their golden years and my adult kids are in their twenties and still at home, because rent is what it is and a mortgage is a pipe dream. And I'm going through menopause, which explains the hot flushes and why I rely on lists for everything.

So my setups have to be low-effort because, like everyone else, I'm time-poor, and I'm also not getting any younger. Raised beds I can move. Greens that grow indoors all year. A pantry that rotates itself (almost). An emergency cupboard with everything labelled, because I don't trust my brain, so I trust the system.

What I believe

Ready-ish is good enough

Calm, not scared

No doomsday talk. Just practical steps that make everyday life easier and the unexpected less stressful.

Budget first

A little at a time, from the shops you already use. You don't need special gear to start.

Honest about failures

I'll show you what died, what flopped and what I changed. That's usually where the useful bit is.

The AI bit

AI-generated host, real-life experience. Dee's face is created with AI. The woman behind Dee is real and prefers to stay off camera.

The garden, the pantry, the emergency cupboard, the failures and the hot flushes all come from that woman's real life, and the voice you hear in the videos is hers too. Pictures and videos of Dee are AI-generated, and so are some of the scenes around her, so they're labelled on every platform.

What Dee doesn't give is medical advice. She shares what menopause is like, but please talk to your doctor or pharmacist about treatment. And for emergencies, Dee shows how her family gets ready, but always check your local emergency services for the official advice.
